Who we are

What we collect

• Account data: name, email, and avatar if provided.
• Guest account: The first time you open the app, RetiPie automatically creates a guest account with no real name or email, so your plays, likes, and scores are saved before you sign in. When you sign in, your guest activity is merged into your account. You can delete a guest account from the app too.
• Play data: game sessions, duration, completion, likes, shares, scores, blocked users, and similar signals used to run the app, personalize the feed, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
• Personalization: your feed is ordered using your own play and like history and the games you mark as not interested. This ordering stays within RetiPie.
• Diagnostics: how long a game took to load and what kind of error occurred if it failed to load or run (for example a network or runtime error), stored with your account so we can fix broken games and keep the service reliable.
• Searches: search queries are sent to our servers to return results, but we do not store them.
• Reports: if you report a game, the free-text description you write is stored together with your account so moderators can review it.
• Approximate location (leaderboard country): the country from your phone's region setting, never your precise location. If your phone gives none, we use the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address when you post a score. It appears as a flag next to your name on leaderboards, where everyone can see it, and changes when you change your region setting.
• Device and network: IP address and full user agent (the text your device sends to identify the app and system version) are stored with each sign-in session for security and abuse prevention. A session record, including its IP address and user agent, is deleted 30 days after the session expires. Your device language is used to localize the app.
• Install ID and update data: each time the app checks for updates, it sends Expo, our update service provider, a random ID generated for your installation and the IDs of recent updates that crashed at launch, so Expo can avoid serving a broken update. We do not attach this ID to your account.
• Creator data: bio, website, uploaded game files, moderation history, and dashboard settings.

What we do not do

• No third-party ad or analytics SDKs inside games.
• No selling personal data.
• No third-party tracking cookies on the platform.
• No advertising: RetiPie currently shows no ads and uses no advertising ID.

Service providers

We rely on a few trusted providers to operate RetiPie: Hetzner for cloud hosting in the European Union, Cloudflare for content delivery and security, Google and Apple for optional sign-in, SMTP2GO for service emails, and Expo for app updates (it receives the install ID and update data described above). These providers process data only on our behalf to run the service, not for their own purposes.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 to use RetiPie, or 16 in parts of the European Economic Area where local law requires it. RetiPie is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, including GDPR, CCPA, KVKK, and similar laws, you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data. Write to [email protected].

Account deletion

To delete your RetiPie account, open the app, go to the Profile tab, tap the Settings icon at the top, and choose Delete account. This works for guest accounts too. You are signed out everywhere right away, and your account is permanently deleted after a 30-day waiting period. If you sign in again during those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled. If you no longer have the app, email [email protected] from your account's email address.

We delete your profile (name, email, avatar, username), your gameplay data, and — if you are a creator — the games you uploaded. We retain financial records such as creator payouts where tax law requires it (up to 10 years in some countries) under restricted access, plus anonymized statistics that cannot identify you.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. You sign in with Google or Apple, so we never store a password, and uploaded games and changes to live games are reviewed before they reach players.
